Why I’m an Activist

When I see all the heartbreak around the world, I am reminded why I chose to be an activist in the first place. After three hospitalizations in one year due to attempting suicide, I told myself, ‘you don’t kill yourself, you make revolution!’ From that moment on, I made the conscious choice to never have another bad day.

People regularly ask me if that means that I ignore all the bad things that are happening. Well… no… absolutely not! If something makes me feel sad or angry, I don’t wallow in despair. I read, talk with others and act.

After horrible events, it’s more important than ever to remain positively engaged in whatever drives you. Let’s work for justice and peace! Let’s treat all people with love and compassion! Let’s take care of this beautiful planet!
