Russia Clown Trip 2009

Celebrating a quarter century of "nasal diplomacy" in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Patch is welcoming old friends & friends-to-be with the first Gesundheit-arranged clown tour to Russia. There are a few places left, so act soon!

The total cost, including round trip flight from Dulles International is $4100.
The cost of the ground package (that is, if you pay for own visa and airfare to and from Russia) is $3000.

A message from Patch Adams about this trip:

"... All you have to do is show up to the gigs and radiate and play! We have many Russian friends and are deeply involved with orphans there, all of whom are poor, so I add $150 to the tour price, so that the Russian friends can eat with us. If you love, you cannot fail on this trip. This is a buddy trip, so consider coming with a friend, lover, or family member (a family of 4 came two years ago). There are no clown classes—find classes at home if you wish and experiment lots on your own—just a huge number of opportunities, with lots of other enthusiastic beginners as well as seasoned clowns to imitate and learn from. It's up to each of you to find your way to give and take delight at the same time. I am just one of the clowns doing my own exploring of work and play. The motivation for coming on the trip should be the privilege to serve in love and fun in all we encounter.

"My goals: (1) to give participants a magical clown troupe experience encouraging group cohesiveness with intimacy for all. (2) Spread as much love and fun everywhere as is humanly possible—for each to find how easy it is, in hopes that people will take it home in their daily lives. (3) To introduce you to many Russians, in hopes that you will make friends with at least one. (4) To give each the opportunity of two solid weeks of finding and sharing their clown selves.

"I encourage folks to read Russian history and their glorious literature (Dostoevski, Tolstoy, Gogol, Chekhov, Bukgakov, Akmatova, Pasternak, and so many more). You will be very well cared for in this very poor, troubled country and I fully discourage whiners, misanthropes and prima donnas from coming. This is a trip where you work for the love of all people.
