This morning was fantastic! Bowen White, M.D. author of Why Normal Isn't Healthy, was here from Kansas City and gave an incredible, funny and inspirational talk about infusing our life with play and fun as a part of the healing process. After that, I had a chance walk through the American Visionary Art Museum (where this conference is being held) on a break to see the beautiful and innovative art from artists around the world. What an invigorating space we are in as we spend real quality time trying to discover the kind of health care systems we want to see, and finding tools offered by the School for Designing a Society, the host of this Health Care Intensive with Patch Adams, M.D.
I’m particularly energized today by watching my colleagues from around the world think hard and play intensely in the process of examining our ideas about health care. Later, there will be an opportunity for us to share our ideas with the group about the change we want to see in the world, and look for collaborators from the Intensive. I especially appreciate this part of the conference and the way that we can find other people to create support to see ideas about health care transformation come to life.
