Spring Wellness Celebration

Spring 2019 | Hillsboro, WV

A celebration of health and wellness!

The Experience

Wellness is a vital part of Gesundheit Institute and our mission worldwide. We want to offer a weekend to focus on what it means to be well and learn simple and effective ways to incorporate it into our everyday lives. We will learn about wellness of the mind, body, spirit, family and community and how each of these elements affects us in varying ways.

Attendees will participate in two workshops a day. Workshops will be taught by local experts in each topic. These local experts will expand your knowledge of health and wellness as well as community and rural living.

Spend ample time connecting to nature through guided hikes, medicine walks and outdoor meditation. Mother Earth has an abundance of gifts: local vegetation offers a variety of health benefits, culinary uses, and nutritionally rich food. The outdoors offers a peaceful landscape to find your inner desires and listen to your body. Hiking in the wilderness of Pocahontas County is sure to leave you with a sense of awe and desire for more nature. Mother Nature has all you need for a healthy body, mind and soul.

Share delicious, home-cooked, healthy meals together. Comradery is important to human beings. Sharing a kitchen with a new found friend or old family member is an enjoyable experience for many reasons. The trust involved with food preparation, the pleasure of providing nourishment and the age old act of putting fire to food builds relationships and fosters confidence.

Musical entertainment provided each night with option for attendees to participate. Appalachian string music is ancient. The deep roots in which this music is steeped is felt in its rhythmic captivity—dance, sing and play along!

Build a network of vibrant folks who are passionate about doing their part to make a healthier world. Communal support is vital to a healthy community. Communities range in size, however, no matter where you come from you must be surrounded by folks who share the desire to be happy and present.
