Social Medicine Symposium
In keeping with the original sense of the word "symposium," this educational weekend will also be convivial—suffused with fun and camaraderie, applying our principles to the event itself, in the midst of the warmth and beauty of the ambience on the Gesundheit land in West Virginia.
Based on the cornerstone of the Patch Adams philosophy that “one cannot separate the health of the individual from the health of the community from the health of the world,” symposium participants will take all three modules during the weekend: The Health of the Individual; Community Health and Social Medicine; and Global Health Delivery Science.

Summer School for Designing a Society
Gesundheit's project-in-progress to build a unique model of holistic health care will serve as an inspiration for us to coax each other to dream big—in our personal lives, in our community involvements, in our contributions to global peace and justice.

This three week session draws on insights and practices from experimental composition, epic theater, poetry, dance, clowning, 2- and 3-dimensional art, story-telling, critical theory, systems theory, and cybernetics. Situated in the beautiful natural and built environment of the Gesundheit Institute, the intensive combines seminar, group work, and assignments with walks, clown trips, and other opportunities for engaging with the local environment.

Health Care Justice Gathering

The Healthcare Justice Gathering is an activism-oriented meeting of students, physicians, medical professionals, clowns, and community-builders, whose programming is organized and created by its participants.
