Workshops: Beach Clown
Beach Clown Bio
Beach Clown (a.k.a. Kathleen Crewes) has been clowning since she was a child. When her father was diagnosed with cancer, she learned that creating humor and generating laughter helped her and her parents to better weather an extremely painful long-term illness.
After her father passed away, Beach attended school to become an X-ray technician. As an X-ray technician, Beach "clowned" for her clients because she knew that laughter and joy could be powerful tools for healing.
In 1993, Beach met Patch Adams and they became instant clowning soul mates. She clowned with Patch and worked as his assistant for the next 10 years. Beach is now sharing with others the experiences and insights she collected during those years.
Both as Patch's assistant and independently, Beach Clown has organized clowning trips in countries all over the world. She has led clowns to Russia, Siberia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Africa, Cuba, and China, to name just some.
